On 17/10/2016 a meeting was held between Sri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam & Sri T.R Zeliang Hon’ble Chief Minister Nagaland
at Convention Centre, Kohora of Kaziranga National Park.
The meeting was held under Border outreach program and was attended by several Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries, Chief Secretary and officials from both the states participated in the
Sri Sarbananda Sonowal said that Assam and Nagaland has a history of brotherhood and age-old, deep rooted ties of friendship. He said the states should develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as intelligence sharing, crime control, action against rhino poaching and updation of NRC.
INVITATION FOR DESIGNING LOGO AND TAGLINE FOR BRAND “ONE HORN NATION’’
With over 34 Eco-development committees along southern boundary and 5 eco-development committees along northern boundary of Kaziranga National park and many more to form. We intend to form federation of eco-development committees for marketing our products. Ours products shall preserve our uniqueness and share essence of kaziranga. Our products shall carry along with it the essence of symbiotic relationship of kaziranga with its fringe villagers. We have coined a brand name for marketing our products like T Shirts, Outdoor clothings, caps souvenirs, handloom, sculpture, processed food, organically produced items etc. Brand shall be called “ONE HORN NATION’’. We invite you to share a logo and tagline that captures the essence of the brand.
The prize of Rs. 10,000 will be paid to provider of the winning logo and provider of the winning tagline, along with a citation.

A new Boeing 777-300ER belonging to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (PH-BVO) has been added to its fleet and is named after the Kaziranga National Park which flies in between New York & Amsterdam
KLM traditionally names this aircraft type after world heritage sites and nature reserves, with past examples including Iguazu Falls and Mount Kilimanjaro & Tijuca National Park.
On 06/10/2016 the closing ceremony event of 62nd Wildlife Week was held at Centenary Convention Hall, Central Range of Kaziranga National Park.
Art & painting competition was held along with Quiz competition conducted by Quiz-master Sri Nabajyoti Bharali & organized by ABVP members.
Later in the afternoon a “Mukoli Sabha” was held and the invited dignitaries expressed their views on the 62nd Wildlife Week celebrations and awarded prizes to the winners of Quiz, Painting & Essay Competitions.

On 05/10/2016 as a part of ongoing 62nd Wildlife Week celebrations a One -Day invitational Prize Money Seven-A Side #Football competition for Wildlife Conservation Awareness was organized at J.D.S.G College Sports Complex, Bokakhat by Kaziranga National Park Authority in association with Bokakhat District Masters Athlete Association, Bokakhat.
The final match was played between Bokakhat Veteran United & Tea Garden United where “Tea Garden United” emerged out as the winners.
On 1st October Smt. Pramilarani Brahma, Honourable Minister of Environment and Forests, Government of Assam did the ceremonial opening of Kaziranga National Park for the tourism season 2016-17.
Sri Atul Bora, Honourable minister of Agriculture, Horticulture and Town & Country Planning was also present on the occasion.
Sri Keshav Mahanta ,Honourable minister of Water resource and Science & Technology inaugurated the Western Range, Bagori gate of Kaziranga National Park for visitors for season 2016-17.
This is notified for general information that Kaziranga National Park is scheduled to open for the season 2016-17 w.e.f. 1st of October, 2016 for tourists. However, due to inclement weather and road condition inside the National Park, only Western Range, Bagori and Central Range, Kohora would be opened for tourists.
Elephant Ride shall continue as usual. Total distance of Jeep Safari circuit shall be reduced till further orders due to ongoing repairing works.
